Grant for French Teacher Training in France

Powder Girl studied abroad in France too many years ago to comfortably bring up. Just know that it was a fabulous experience, with fabulous people I still chat with occasionally. I taught in two primary schools and one secondary school in Vitrolles, France. I lived in Aix-en-Provence in a quaint little apartment with long, wooden shuttered windows one could throw open to piss-scented, cobble-stoned streets. Yes–if you study or teach in the Sud de France as I did, get ready for the piss and the pigeons. Not something the tourist guides will tell you, but piss is a simple and pungent fact of life in French streets. But so are warm baguettes, great food, and yummy French men. So we’ll concentrate on those things (perhaps not in that order). The program I was accepted for was also through the Embassade de New York, but it was a different program for a longer–9 months–duration of time. The application for this year has passed, but I wanted all my teachers to bookmark this link:http://www.frenchculture.org/spip.php?rubrique516&tout=ok so they can squeeze this program into their schedules summer 2012. Bon chance!
